Promoting Earth Observation solutions for forestry in the EU Green Week
The H2020 MySustainableForest project organised a webinar aimed at training forestry end-users on the use and application of the remote sensing-based forestry services developed by the consortium during the past three years.
Around 50 participants from the forest community, academia and government participated in the MySustainableForest (MSF) training webinar on Tuesday 22 September, which focused on presenting the portfolio of Earth Observation-based solutions designed to improve forest management and make it more efficient and sustainable.
The event was organised by EFI and was part of the EU’s Green Week. Most of the session was conducted through Mentimeter (an interactive online survey tool), which allowed for greater participation and engagement during the virtual workshop. Through a series of questions about the remote sensing-based products offered by this Horizon2020 project, their characteristics and the interest they generate among foresters, the consortium members gathered information to improve the business platform that will emerge from the project.
The participants were offered in advance a series of materials, such as guides to the products developed by MSF, video tutorials on how to order a product on our commercial platform, as well as a live demonstration of our portfolio of services available on the website, which includes products related to Forest characterisation; Wood characterisation; Forest condition; Volume, biomass and CO2 stocks; Ecosystem vulnerabilities or Forestry accounting.
