Forest Innovation Technologies and Projects: from the forest to the industry

MADERA+ presents the innovative components of the Wood Quality Service provided by My Sustainable Forest in the following forum taking place on May 22 in Madrid, Spain: “Forest Innovation Technologies and Projects: from the forest to the industry”. The event is organised by Forest-LidaRioja operating group, with the support of the Official College of Forestry Engineers.

Different technological solutions such as LiDAR, satellite remote sensing, Big Data or blockchain are becoming more and more relevant in the forest value chain, from inventory processes, forestry and forest resource management to the way in which the first transformation industries are harvested and supplied.

At present, interesting practical and collaborative forestry innovation projects are being developed in Spain through initiatives such as the so-called EIP-AGRI operative groups that aim to solve specific problems or take advantage of opportunities for improvement using innovative solutions. Many of these solutions are based on technologies with different degrees of implementation in the forestry sector, some of them still very incipient, being an important window to what can happen in a generalised way in the forestry sector in a few years.

The objective of the session is to open a window to technologies that are revolutionising or emerging in the forest sector through projects and case studies and exchange knowledge and experiences among actors.
